Check the primary literature. PubMed is a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine that includes over 18 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical articles back to the 1950s. PubMed includes links to full text articles and other related resources.

Merck Manual
A mainstay of medical information since 1889, the 18^th and latest edition covers the gamut from narcolepsy and neurology to phobias and pharmacokinetics.

The CDC site is filled with timely medical news, health topics A to Z, environmental health and emergency preparedness and response. The website is also home to such vital publications as Morbidity and Mortality Weekly (MMWR) and Emerging Infectious Diseases.

National Institutes of Health 
This government website delivers to you information on all drugs, links to every disease imaginable, as well as clinical trial information, NIH Clinical Alerts, research highlights and health hotlines.
